Mobile website design, built for the phone your customer is holding
Mobile website design at Morneto starts with the phone, then widens the same page for tablets and desktops. Every site we build is mobile-first and responsive, and the build price from $997 one-time already covers it.

How we work
How does phone-first mobile website design work?
Mobile-first web design means we design the phone layout first, then build the larger screens up from it. So the small screen gets the clear headline and the readable text, not the leftovers of a desktop page. That matters, because a visitor who has to pinch and zoom often leaves before sending an inquiry.
First comes discovery: who you sell to, what they search for and what the site has to achieve. At the same stage, we agree a page-weight and load-time target for every template.
Then design and development run together in short cycles. You follow the build on a shared staging link. So you can open working pages on your own phone, not static mockups. Finally, we check every template against the agreed target before it ships.

What does mobile website development include?
Mobile website development is not a separate package at Morneto. It is part of every website build, so the phone version gets everything the desktop version gets:
- Custom design, not a template, laid out for the phone screen first.
- A mobile-first, responsive build: one site that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops.
- Five to fifteen pages, depending on scope.
- A 99/100 PageSpeed budget, with right-sized images and fonts that do not block the first paint.
- On-page SEO and structured data built in, to help search engines and AI assistants read your business correctly.
- A shared staging link during the build, then a handover with a walkthrough.
- Pages you can edit visually, with no developer needed for a new headline or image.
- Ownership of the site, the code and the design files once you settle the final invoice.
Responsive web design or a separate mobile site: which do you need?
For most mobile website design projects, one responsive site is the simpler answer. Responsive design serves the same page on the same URL to every device. The layout simply adapts to the screen. Google’s guidance on mobile-first indexing recommends it, because it is the easiest pattern to build and maintain.
That choice also matters for search. Google indexes and ranks the mobile version of your content. However, a separate mobile site means two versions to keep in step. So if the mobile copy drops text, search sees the thinner page.
As a responsive web design company, we build one site with one set of pages. Therefore, every update you make reaches every screen at once.
How fast should a mobile page load?
Speed is part of mobile website design, not an add-on. Google sets the bar with its Core Web Vitals. The first of the three, Largest Contentful Paint, counts as good at 2.5 seconds or less. In other words, the main content should be on screen within that time.
However, a page can pass on a desktop and still fail on a phone over mobile data. So we test Core Web Vitals before and after every build. Hitting the target on a phone takes restraint: few third-party scripts and images sized for the slots they fill. It also means no plugin that loads code the page never uses.
Can an existing site be fixed for phones?
Mobile friendly web design does not always mean starting over. If the structure underneath is sound, repair is usually cheaper and safer than a rebuild. For example, the fix might be the layout, the images or the scripts.
First, we check your site in a free audit. Then we tell you plainly whether a fix or a rebuild makes sense for a mobile friendly website. If a rebuild is the right call, we map every old URL to its new page before launch. That way, nothing that ranks today ends up on a dead link.
What does mobile website design cost?
Mobile website design has no separate price. Every website build includes it, from $997 one-time for five to fifteen pages. We fix the exact number in writing against an agreed scope before any work starts. Hosting, domain registration and premium plugin licenses are separate lines, as our pricing page shows.
After launch, Website Care costs $97 per month for updates, daily backups, uptime monitoring and malware scanning. Website Care Plus, at $197 per month, adds one hour of work each month. That hour covers text changes and small fixes. You can cancel either plan any time.
When you compare quotes from any mobile web design company, check one thing first. Is the phone version included, or priced as an extra?

Questions
What do clients ask before a mobile build?
What does “mobile website design” mean?
It means designing a website so it reads and works well on a phone. Today that is usually one responsive site that adapts to every screen, not a separate mobile copy. At Morneto, the phone layout comes first.
What is the difference between an app and a mobile website?
A mobile website opens in the phone’s browser from a link or a search, with nothing to install. People download an app from the App Store or Google Play instead. If you need one, our app development service covers iOS and Android, from $9,997 for a simple app. We set the exact price in a written scope before any work starts.
Is mobile-first design still relevant?
Yes. Google uses the mobile version of a page’s content for indexing and ranking, and it calls this mobile-first indexing. So if the phone version is thin or broken, that is the version search judges.
Does the phone version cost extra?
No. Every website we build is mobile-first and responsive. So mobile website design is part of the build price, from $997 one-time. There is no separate fee for the mobile version.
Can you make my existing website mobile friendly?
That depends on the site you have. Start with a free audit. We check the site, then tell you whether a fix or a rebuild makes sense. You keep the audit either way.
How do you check that a site works on phones?
Before launch, we hold every template to the load-time target set in discovery. We also test Core Web Vitals before and after every build. A fast desktop score says little about a phone on mobile data. During the build, you can also open the staging link on your own phone.
